Drawn Cans

Description

The term "drawn cans" is used to describe round or non-round cans made of tinplate or aluminum, which are produced by a one-stage or multi-stage deep-drawing process. In contrast to welded three-piece cans, there is no need for closing the lower end with a bottom.

On a deep-drawing press, a cup is punched and drawn from a metal sheet. Depending on the application, this is subsequently trimmed and further processed on a postforming machine.
