Acquisition of Pakea

Blema acquires Pakea de France

The Blema Group took over the company Pakea de France based in Mulhouse-Rixheim on December 3, 2020 with effect from January 1, 2021. The acquisition further strengthens the position of the machine engineering group on the world market. The plan of the strategic family investors is not only to continue the existing product portfolio of machines for paper converting and packaging, but to improve it technologically. The factory location and the experienced employees remain at the Mulhouse-Rixheim site. The goal is further expansion and sustainable development over the next years.

The strategic management of Pakea de France is taken over by Uwe Leonhardt as Chairman and Sebastian Leonhardt as CEO in addition to their overall responsibility for the companies of the Blema Group. The former CEO of Pakea, Pascal Buzon, will become the company’s new COO.

Statement by Uwe Leonhardt:
“In 2020, we were able to strengthen the Blema Group through company and factory acquisitions in the United States (M.S. Willett Inc. in Baltimore) and in France (Pakea in Rixheim). We are now represented at four factory locations: Aue and Tübingen in Germany, Baltimore in the USA and Mulhouse-Rixheim in France. In this way, we are expanding our capacities, our product portfolio, the sales and customer service network and our competitive position for the benefit of our customers. We will use the collective potential and integrate the locations as best as possible to secure a long-term future for all companies.”

The Leonhardt family invests sustainably in their own companies. The strategic focus is on packaging and processing machinery.
